Parr Motorsport are optimistic heading into tomorrow’s Carrera Cup GB race. Both Sean Hudspeth and Peter Kyle-Henney start from third in Pro Am1 and Pro Am2 respectively, which puts them in prime position to take a good points haul and podiums tomorrow.
The session got underway in overcast sunny conditions, which is a contrast to yesterdays slippery conditions. That allowed Sean to maximise his pace throughout the session, improving his lap time by nearly a second as the session progressed. Peter was also showing encouraging pace, exploring the limits of the circuit before making a small mistake which stopped him from improving.
Sean Hudspeth – Pro Am1 Driver
“Not too bad, just didn’t get the most out of it with the new tyres. Got a little bit unfortunate with the traffic, with cars going off and everything. So everytime I would get the temperature and push, I would have to back off. But I think based on the circumstances, I think I did pretty well. I put in a decent time all things considered, and I don’t have a lot of experience on this track on news tyres so, in terms of driving being concerned I think we made a step forward and I think we can definitely race from where we are.”
Peter Kyle-Henney – Pro Am2 Driver
“We had a great day yesterday, just got a bit greedy coming down the hill. We knew the time was coming, I was putting in some good times and then I just took too much out of the hill and it bit me.”
Ben Barker – Driver Coach
“I’m really happy, I think they both have learning curves and we’re getting to the stage where they are pushing to the level that is what they are looking for. Sean learned how to heat up the tyre properly, especially the front right which is not used as much. So he learnt from that and did a very good job on the second set of tyres. Pete also put in two good laps luckily before he went off; he was just exploring the limits and that’s where we are at the moment to find that extra bit of time.”
Declan Robe – Team Mananger
“Good performances by Sean and Pete today. Pete just pushed it beyond the line a bit and spun, Sean unfortunately had a lockup on the first set of tyres which hindered him but overall I’m really pleased.”
