Parr Motorsport will enter two cars in the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest one-make championship in the UK. The Crawley-based championship stalwarts will run cars for championship returnee Peter Kyle-Henney and debutant Sean Hudspeth.
Peter will be entering his third season in the championship having finished ProAm2 runner up in 2014, missing out by only one point. He endured a part season in 2015 after a heavy accident at Oulton Park ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
“I only completed two races in 2015 so I’m looking forward to returning”, said Peter. “It’s great to be back for a full year with Parr Motorsport, competing in a very competitive, well run and exciting championship.”
Singaporean driver Sean Hudspeth will join Peter in the team. The 21 year old splits his time between Singapore and the UK due to his dual nationality and has previously been a race winner driving a Porsche in the GT3 Cup Challenge on the continent.
He made his car racing debut in 2014 in the Formula Masters championship whilst also completing compulsory National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces. Prior to this he raced karts in the various Asian championships.
“I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB,” said Sean. “This is my first full season in a GT championship and it is a great opportunity. It’s a very competitive championship so the target is to keep improving my driving. I’m going to be putting a lot of hard work in with Parr so we can do as well as we possibly can.”
“We’re really looking forward to going racing,” added Parr team boss Paul Robe. “We’ve been out and done a lot of testing, including two days in Spain, and I’m really happy with the position we are in ahead of the start of the season. It’s great having Peter back with us and we are hoping for a good, clear year of racing. Sean has shown good potential in testing and definitely has the right attitude and approach so I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”
The team’s first race fo the year will be at Brands HAtch on the 2nd and 3rd April.
