Kyle-Henney takes maiden win, Sean makes it double podium in Croft opener

Peter Kyle-Henney won his first ProAm2 Porsche Carrera Cup victory in Croft’s opening race, while Sean Hudspeth took second in ProAm1 to make it a double podium for Parr Motorsport.

Kyle-Henney had taken second on the grid by the narrowest of margins and he again showed considerable pace as he jumped the pole-sitter on the opening lap. From there, he showed impressive race craft to manage his gap in front to take a maiden victory.

Sean was also able to show a good turn of speed on the narrow confines of Croft. He was able to make up a place after a rival made an error in front. He also had to contend with impact from a fellow Porsche, but he continued undeterred. His race was far from over and it was no easy feat to hold onto second. Sean was hounded across most of the laps, but he managed to secure second place for another podium finish in an impressive debut season.

“That wasn’t bad at all! We made up a place on our start position which is always great. We struggled a little on older tyres, the balance wasn’t quite right, but we were able to hold on which is a positive. I got tapped intot he Esses and lost a lot of ground to the leaders so I couldn’t challenge for the win. Huge thanks to the team for this result and I have a lot of belief in them and myself.”

“It’s been a long time coming this win. We were close to pole yesterday and this was a bit of a response to that. I feel I’m back in the groove and I knew I had to get past the big crash at Oulton last year. That sort of thing will play in your mind when it’s such a big incident, but we’ve come good today. I knew I had the pace today and it was about using it and making the most of it.”

Declan Robe, Team Manager

“That was a good race for us. Peter had a great start and he pulled a good gap and managed it well which was very impressive. I’m so pleased for him to get that first win. We’ve worked hard at Croft, we weren’t quite on it to start with but we’ve improved and got our reward. Sean did well, there’s some more pace to be found but overall he’s a good race and we look forward to finding more of that pace this afternoon.”

Josh Webster, Driver Coach

That was very good. I’m delighted for Peter to get his first win of the season and it shows the progress he’s making. Second was great for Sean, we still need to find pace but I know we’ll get there and we look forward to getting out for the second race.”
