Parr Motorsport demonstrated encouraging pace in Friday’s Porsche Carrera Cup testing, with both drivers confident ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying.
An overcast Croft stayed dry for most of the day’s running, split between two practice sessions.
Sean Hudspeth ended the day believing there was more to come from his Porsche, but still managed to finish fourth in class in the morning and fifth in the afternoon.
Hudspeth also had his work cut out, learning the Croft circuit for the very first time.
Meanwhile Peter Kyle-Henney showed impressive pace, as well as tremendous consistency. The Am2 driver was fastest in the morning session before finishing second in the afternoon.
Sean Hudspeth (ProAm1) – FP1 4th, FP2 5th
“It was tough in traffic out there. I’ve never driven Croft before so it’ll be a little unknown going into tomorrow’s qualifying. The potential is certainly there though.
I have faith in myself and the team to take that forward into tomorrow and improve. The morning session was also a little difficult after some damage to the car.”
Peter Kyle-Henney (ProAm2) FP1 1st, FP2 2nd
“It’s a good day and I can’t complain at all. I think I was in the top two positions regularly today and within a tenth of top times when I wasn’t fastest.
I’m looking forward to qualifying and track conditions should be better tomorrow. It’s looking good.
The rear was a little too stiff on the car, it difficult to get power down on exit, so we’ll work on that. A change should help in the high speed areas such as the Esses.”
Josh Webster – Driver Coach
“It’s a positive day, especially for Peter. We made a good step forward and that was the benefit of having testing here at Croft. He’s on for a strong weekend, and that should start with qualifying.
It was a more difficult day for Sean. It was hard to get the most out of tyres, but I could see a lot of drivers saying the same. We’ll work hard tonight, go through the data and we’ll be good to come back tomorrow.”
