Kyle Henney inherits win as Hudspeth finishes ahead of Pro driver

It was a good start to the day for Parr Motorsport as Peter Kyle-Henney claimed first in Pro Am2 in the opening race, while Sean Hudspeth was able to finish third in the Pro Am1 race.

Both drivers were able to stay out of trouble heading side-by-side into the first corner, with Peter able to move up to second in class having made a good start. He then had a good battle with Thomas Jennings for second in class, the pair nose-to-tail before Peter was able to stretch the gap in the second part of the race until the chequered flag.

Even though Mark Radcliffe won on track however, it soon emerged that he was excluded for a ride height infringement. That allowed Peter to take the class win after all.

After a good start Sean consolidated his position and drove defensively throughout the race to hold off Pro driver Alessandro Latif, finishing just outside the top ten.

Sean Hudspeth – Pro Am1 Driver

“I had a pretty good start and stayed out of trouble, it got a little argy-bargy into the first couple of corners, everyone was trying to find out where to go. I had some decent pace at the start but struggled with chassis balance and struggled to get the power down. We know how to improve, how to stay consistent. For my first time here we didn’t really have high expectations, so to come away with a podium is great.”

Peter Kyle-Henney – Pro Am2 Driver

“Qualifying yesterday was a bit disappointing, but I was determined to do better. I got past into the first corner, then Thomas came from know where and then of course he was holding me up a bit too much. Finally, when I got past him Radcliffe was too far up the road but now we know why. Good start and now there is only five points between the top three.”

Ben Barker – Driver Coach

“It was a good drive from Pete, he came back from his off yesterday with determination to get a higher podium spot. Sean also managed to finish ahead of a Pro driver, he kept his tyre temperatures up and was able to put up a good defence. There is just a little bit more to come I think but we’ll hopefully be able to work our way up in the next race.”

Declan Robe – Team manager

“A good start from the team, I think there is still more to come in the second race. We managed to inherit the win with Pete, although there is still some speed to come. With Sean it’s a good start by him considering it’s his first time at this circuit, he finished ahead of a Pro driver which is good, now it’s just about building up the pace to potentially get higher up on the podium.”
